Ahead of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations this bank holiday weekend, our Chain Reaction team held a fantastic afternoon tea party for the older people they support.
Chain Reaction offers a range of support for over 200 older people in Newcastle, to help them connect with other people, stay active in the community, and improve their mental wellbeing. This support includes community group activities like art clubs, walking groups, reading groups, and coffee groups, as well as one-to-one support for people who need it.
As Covid restrictions have lifted, many of Chain Reaction’s in-person groups and activities, such as their Jubilee afternoon tea, are now back up and running. It’s fantastic to see so many people able to re-join these in-person events again and connect with other people in their communities.
Our Chain Reaction team organised an afternoon of entertainment, including a singer, dancing, a raffle and games, as well as a wonderful afternoon tea with sandwiches, scones and cakes!
The afternoon tea proved very popular. Lots of people braved the rain and had a wonderful time.
