About Step Forward Tees Valley
Mental Health Concern is a member of the Northern Inclusion Consortium (NIC), an established partnership between us and three of the North East’s other largest charities: DISC, Groundwork, and Changing Lives.
The NIC delivers the Step Forward Tees Valley programme, an exciting project delivered across the five local authority areas of the Tees Valley, aiming to support people experiencing barriers and complex needs move closer toward work and training opportunities.
Step Forward Tees Valley is an £8.8 million programme, jointly-funded by the Big Lottery Fund and the European Social Fund until September 2019, as part of their Building Better Opportunities programme.
The NIC is looking to appoint a service provider to deliver a female-specific service across the five Tees Valley local authority areas (Darlington, Stockton, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland). The successful provider will be expected to deliver the following service objectives, in accordance with defined programme targets:
- Increase the access and engagement of female participants onto the programme.
- Improve the confidence, employability, and job specific skills of female participants on the Step Forward Tees Valley programme, by co-ordinating an offer of education and skills-learning.
- Provide wrap-around support to enable female participants to fully benefit from the programme.
- Contribute to the evidence base for what works in empowering women, and develop a plan for sustainability and legacy following programme closure.
The service is anticipated to run until the programme ends in September 2019. NIC are looking to appoint a suitable provider to commence the service in early May 2018.
