Other Services
As well as our role as a significant service provider, Mental Health Concern “as a responsive and enabling Organisation” has also developed its role as :-
- A ‘host’ for other mental health related projects and groups
- A representative for the mental health voluntary sector on a local, regional and national level
- A leader in the promotion of innovation and good practice in mental health.
Examples of current activity include :-
- Hosting the Day activities Consortium and lead post for Newcastle. This has facilitated improved inter-agency partnership working and the funding and development of new services
- MHC is now the host organisation for Launchpad, Newcastle's user development service. Ran by and for mental health service users.
- MHC’s Chief Executive supports and represents the sector on local Mental Health Partnerships, regional and national forums. He also works with NIMHE/CSIP where he has been leading on the development of a commissioning framework for the mental health voluntary sector
- MHC is an active member of Mental Health North East and the Mental health Providers Forum
- MHC’s practice and standards manager co-ordinates a regional Dementia Learning Network for the non statutory and independent sectors to promote and exchange best practice.
